	Dear Parent, Académie Lavalloise is a school which emphasizes the importance of a good education. Therefore, we take great pride in creating a warm and accepting atmosphere so that your child feels at home. Our goal is to instil the idea that learning is not only exciting, but rewarding and fun. Throughout the year we provide your child with a variety of appealing activities featuring skills in various subject areas. Our curriculum features age-appropriate activities which consist of: Language activities - learning the alphabet - alphabet sounds - printing and handwriting - learn sound blends - beginning to read Mathematics - counting to 50 - writing numbers 1 through 25 - simple additions and subtractions Science - Children are lead through the process of observing, experimenting, predicting and drawing conclusions. Gross and fine motor activities such as - cutting, pasting, painting, coloring, dancing, games, finger plays and puzzles. - The transition from home to school is of the utmost importance. The first teacher your child has is probably the most important that he or she will ever have. The first teacher can set a child’s attitude for all the school years to come. As both a teacher and a parent myself I understand the anxiety that may be felt when leaving your child for the very first time.
